Paris, France 24 June 2025 – Expleo is proud to announce that its near and long-term science-based emissions reduction targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This approval ensures that Expleo’s targets align with the latest climate science and global efforts to limit warming to 1.5°C.
To demonstrate its commitment to environmental sustainability, Expleo issued its Group Environmental Policy in 2022, setting ambitious goals to reduce emissions by 50% by 2025 and achieve net-zero by 2030 compared to 2019 levels.
Considering changes in the context and ensuring our actions are in line with climate science, we have reviewed our net-zero commitment against the latest SBTi’s Net-Zero Standard resulting in the selection of 2023 as a more accurate and business representative base year. Following a rigorous review and validation process, Expleo has obtained validation by the SBTi of the following science-based targets:
- Near-term targets: Expleo commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 85% by 2030 from a 2023 base year. Expleo commits to reduce scope 3 GHG emissions 55% per FTE within the same timeframe.
- Long-term targets: Expleo commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 90% by 2040 from a 2023 base year. Expleo commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 90% within the same timeframe.
- Overall net-zero target: Expleo commits to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain by 2040.
In line with SBTi criteria, Expleo is committed to prioritising direct emissions reductions across our value chain. To achieve this, actions such as greening the car fleet, sourcing electricity from renewables, adopting more sustainable travel habits, and including carbon criteria in our procurement process have been initiated. All our residual emissions will only be neutralised after comprehensive decarbonisation efforts, reinforcing the integrity of our climate action strategy.
Transparency and accountability are at the core of our approach. Expleo will continue to report its progress transparently through our annual GHG sustainability report, demonstrating our dedication to meeting our commitments and inspiring others to act.

The SBTi is a corporate climate action organisation that enables companies and financial institutions worldwide to play their part in combating the climate crisis. They develop standards, tools and guidance which allow companies to set greenhouse gas emissions reductions targets in line with what is needed to keep global heating below catastrophic levels and reach net-zero by 2050 at the latest.
