Fonds Clinatec\u2019s flagship project sought to help quadriplegic patients regain mobility through a brain implant that would allow them to control a robotic exoskeleton through the power of their thoughts.<\/span><\/p>\n

To bring this groundbreaking technology to clinical trials, Fonds Clinatec required regulatory approvals and extensive testing to ensure safety and efficacy. Expleo secured approvals from ANSM and CPP and created test benches to ensure the system\u2019s functionality, reliability and regulatory compliance.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Expleo helped Fonds Clinatec create a neuroprosthesis that read the brain signals of the patient\u2019s motor cortex and transmitted them in real time to operate the exoskeleton\u2019s limbs seamlessly.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the project, the team also undertook a critical study to double the number of functional electrodes inside the device from 64 to 128. This upgrade aimed to double the measurement resolution in the brain, improving the accuracy and reliability of brain signal decoding for movement prediction.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The impact was profound. Through the BCI project, a young quadriplegic patient was able to move all four of his limbs, demonstrating the amazing potential of the mind-controlled exoskeleton.<\/span><\/p>\n

The team recently delivered a second, upgraded version of the firmware, improving data transmission and processing capacity to enhance the decoding of the patient\u2019s movement intentions.<\/span><\/p>\n
