Paris, <\/span><\/span>1st<\/span><\/span><\/strong> october 2024<\/span><\/strong> – \u00a0Expleo<\/span>, a global player in engineering, <\/span>technology,<\/span> and consultancy<\/span>,<\/span> with recognised <\/span>expertise<\/span> in the space sector, <\/span>announces that on <\/span><\/span>25<\/span><\/span>\u00a0September 2024 it has signed the European Space Agency’s (ESA) <\/span><\/span>\u2018<\/span><\/span><\/span>Zero Debris Charter<\/span><\/span>\u2019<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Launched in 2023 by ESA, the <\/span><\/span>Zero Debris Charter<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> aims <\/span>at reducing<\/span> the exponential multiplication of debris in space. <\/span>Estimates suggest that there are around 130 million pieces larger than one millimetre orbiting the Earth, including one million larger than 1 centimetre<\/span>. <\/span>With the<\/span> milestone of<\/span> 10,000 active satellites <\/span>i<\/span>n orbit <\/span>reached <\/span>during the summer of 2024, 90% of which are in low orbit, including <\/span>Expleo\u2019s<\/span> own <\/span><\/span>ENSO<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> nanosatellite launched in December 2023<\/span>, the risk<\/span> of <\/span>in-orbit <\/span>collisions <\/span>is increasing<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
