Actuellement, seulement 28 % de cette \u00e9nergie est produite de mani\u00e8re durable et 60 % provient du charbon et du gaz.<\/p><p>La consommation d&#8217;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 a tripl\u00e9 depuis 1980 et devrait continuer \u00e0 augmenter, notre d\u00e9pendance \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9gard des combustibles fossiles doit \u00eatre r\u00e9duite afin d&#8217;\u00e9viter de nouveaux d\u00e9g\u00e2ts environnementaux. Elle s&#8217;appuie sur des combustibles \u00e0 la fois facilement disponibles et presque infinis ; on trouve dans les mers et les oc\u00e9ans de la plan\u00e8te suffisamment de lithium pour alimenter le processus pendant des millions d&#8217;ann\u00e9es.
