Fruit d\u2019une collaboration avec le <a href=\"https:\/\/csum.umontpellier.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Centre Spatial de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Montpellier (CSUM)<\/a>, le lancement et l\u2019exploitation d\u2019ENSO serviront de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence pour l\u2019innovation continue dans le domaine du NewSpace.<\/p><p>ENSO est un nanosatellite de type CubeSat 1U de 10x10x10cm pesant \u00e0 peine plus de 1kg. Lanc\u00e9 le 1<sup>er<\/sup> d\u00e9cembre 2023, en orbite basse, celui-ci est progressivement rentr\u00e9 dans l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re terrestre, o\u00f9 il s\u2019est consum\u00e9 int\u00e9gralement le 9 novembre 2025, ne laissant aucune trace de d\u00e9bris ou de pollution orbitale tout en ayant \u00e9t\u00e9 op\u00e9r\u00e9 par les \u00e9quipes du CSUM jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la derni\u00e8re minute.<\/p><p>ENSO embarquait plusieurs syst\u00e8mes d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s et con\u00e7us par les ing\u00e9nieurs d\u2019Expleo\u00a0: un contr\u00f4leur mission permettant de communiquer avec la plateforme CubeSat du CSUM et de piloter les deux charges utiles, elles-aussi de conception Expleo.<\/p><p>Au cours de son exploitation, le contr\u00f4leur a \u00e9t\u00e9 pleinement op\u00e9rationnel et la premi\u00e8re charge utile d\u2019ENSO a permis de fournir des centaines de clich\u00e9s, depuis un appareil photo d\u2019un poids de 6 grammes et disposant d\u2019une focale de 3,1 millim\u00e8tres. Cet appareil photo non caract\u00e9ris\u00e9 pour l\u2019Espace initialement, a surv\u00e9cu \u00e0 une activit\u00e9 solaire des plus denses sans montrer aucun pixel dysfonctionnel, t\u00e9moignant de la r\u00e9ussite du travail accompli.<\/p><p>La seconde charge utile, compos\u00e9e d\u2019une balise g\u00e9n\u00e9rant un signal radiofr\u00e9quence et d\u2019un syst\u00e8me actif de d\u00e9ploiement d\u2019antennes, devait permettre \u00e0 ENSO de contribuer \u00e0 mesurer l&#8217;ionosph\u00e8re terrestre. Bien que la charge utile ait \u00e9t\u00e9 en mesure de g\u00e9n\u00e9rer le signal radiofr\u00e9quence, le d\u00e9ploiement incomplet des antennes de 6 m\u00e8tres de long, a emp\u00each\u00e9 la bonne transmission du signal vers la terre. Les investigations men\u00e9es via les donn\u00e9es r\u00e9colt\u00e9es ont fourni de pr\u00e9cieuses informations \u00e0 nos \u00e9quipes qui travaillent d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e0 la nouvelle version de ce m\u00e9canisme de d\u00e9ploiement.<\/p><p><span class=\"gg-bold-text\">Un tremplin pour l\u2019apprentissage et l\u2019innovation NewSpace<\/span><\/p><p>ENSO est un r\u00e9el succ\u00e8s pour Expleo et le CSUM. L\u2019exp\u00e9rience acquise est particuli\u00e8rement fructueuse pour les futurs projets spatiaux que les \u00e9quipes seront amen\u00e9es \u00e0 r\u00e9aliser pour les clients d\u2019Expleo.<\/p><p>L\u2019apprentissage des enjeux technologiques NewSpace et de l\u2019\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me spatial est une r\u00e9ussite\u00a0: mont\u00e9e en comp\u00e9tence des \u00e9quipes en syst\u00e8mes \u00e9lectroniques embarqu\u00e9s, d\u00e9veloppement de m\u00e9canismes spatiaux, d\u00e9veloppement d\u2019une activit\u00e9 en AIT (assemblage, int\u00e9gration, test), management de la salle blanche d\u2019Expleo.<\/p><p>Aujourd\u2019hui, les R\u00e9publiques de Djibouti et du S\u00e9n\u00e9gal ont b\u00e9n\u00e9fici\u00e9 de l\u2019expertise d\u2019Expleo, sur la base de la plateforme 1U du CSUM et avec une charge utile d\u2019Expleo. Deux de leurs satellites sont encore parfaitement op\u00e9rationnels \u00e0 ce jour, un autre s\u2019\u00e9tant lui aussi d\u00e9sint\u00e9gr\u00e9 dans l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re d\u00e9but septembre 2025 \u00e0 la fin de sa mission.<\/p><p>La mission ENSO, initi\u00e9e par Expleo, en \u00e9troite coop\u00e9ration \u00e9troite avec le Centre Spatial de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Montpellier, a activement contribu\u00e9 aux enseignements d\u00e9livr\u00e9s aux \u00e9tudiants, avec le soutien de la Fondation Van Allen dont Expleo est l\u2019un des membres fondateurs. Sans oublier les nombreux radio-amateurs qui n\u2019ont cess\u00e9 de suivre le CubeSat de son lancement jusqu\u2019\u00e0 sa fin de vie.<\/p><p>\u00ab\u00a0<em>Le retour d\u2019exp\u00e9rience de l\u2019aventure Expleo est absolument incroyable. C\u2019est un aboutissement de plusieurs ann\u00e9es de travail passionn\u00e9 en R&amp;D, impliquant des \u00e9quipes multi-m\u00e9tiers, de nos stagiaires \u00e0 nos experts. ENSO nous a permis de d\u00e9velopper de nouvelles comp\u00e9tences et m\u00e9thodologies d\u2019ing\u00e9nierie adapt\u00e9s \u00e0 ces nouveaux besoins et de valider plusieurs briques technologiques en orbite. <\/em><\/p><p><em>Voir les efforts de nos \u00e9quipes depuis 2019 payer avec le lancement en d\u00e9cembre 2023 \u00e9tait une premi\u00e8re fiert\u00e9\u00a0; valider la r\u00e9ussite des op\u00e9rations jusqu\u2019aux tous derniers instants du satellite en orbite en est un autre. Ce premier programme NewSpace nous permet aujourd\u2019hui de proposer une offre pertinente \u00e0 nos clients, en comprenant leurs besoins de compromis entre performance, co\u00fbts et planning. <\/em>\u00bb explique <span class=\"gg-bold-text\">Valentin Martelet, Space Offer Leader, Expleo.<\/span><\/p><p><em>\u00a0<\/em><em>\u00ab\u00a0ENSO combine l&#8217;expertise d&#8217;Expleo avec les connaissances et l&#8217;exp\u00e9rience du CSUM en mati\u00e8re de plateformes, de lancement de nanosatellites et de formation aux m\u00e9tiers du spatial. Au moins 20 \u00e9tudiants stagiaires et alternants en formation dans le Mast\u00e8re Sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 en D\u00e9veloppement des Syst\u00e8mes Spatiaux (MS DSS) port\u00e9 par Polytech Montpellier sont intervenus dans l&#8217;ensemble du projet.
