SWITCH Mobility is a British electric vehicle manufacturer, specialising in carbon-neutral buses. These include the Metrocity and Metrodecker models, which are already operating in the UK.
SWITCH thought these two bus models required certain engineering changes. One of their main priorities is to improve the battery system used, increasing its life cycle and incorporating ultra-fast charging systems. Likewise, making changes in the designs of these vehicles for adapting them to the newest needs of users and regulations are key for this manufacturer. SWITCH Mobility has placed itself in the hands of Expleo to assist in this development and redesign.
Challenge: to get the necessary tools to gain notoriety in the Marketplace
According to Benjamin Bailly, Project Manager, Expleo Iberia, the main challenge SWITCH will have to deal with is to get the required tools for boosting this project: “SWITCH is a new client eager to grow, but it has not yet fulfilled all the processes of a large company. From Expleo, we seek to guide them on this issue through our experience in the automotive industry”.
Solution: to establish an automotive project
We have proposed to manage and execute SWITCH’s product design activities, from the concept and architecture phase to the finished design, headed up by a qualified team from Expleo – experienced professionals in the field. This would allow Expleo to manage the project as an auto project using standards typically applied within the automotive sector.

The implementation of this self-driven project will be a major enabler for SWITCH. Expleo will facilitate decision-making, establish planning and validate the process.
