Expleo opens automotive R&D center in Troy, Michigan

Expleo to bring more than 200 new highly skilled automotive jobs to Southeast Michigan, specializing in digital engineering

Troy, MI, United States, June 10, 2024 Expleo today announced the official opening of its new U.S. digital engineering center in Troy, Michigan. The office was inaugurated on June 6 in an opening ceremony attended by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Expleo CEO Rajesh Krishnamurthy, EVP Automotive Marcus Ganguin, city of Troy and Oakland County officials, and local business leaders from the automotive industry.

Expleo’s new 25,000 square-foot space has been designed to provide a comprehensive environment for a wide range of end-to-end services incorporating digital, engineering and quality services to automotive OEMs and Tier 1 companies in the region and beyond.

In addition to an extensive office working area for engineering talent, it incorporates a state-of-the-art R&D workspace, including a large ‘shop floor’, from which to deliver engineering and IT services to auto manufacturers, from concept to aftersales services. This enables Expleo to provide a flexible environment for working hands-on with vehicles and complex test benches for future platforms.

“Expleo’s new R&D facility in Troy will create good-paying jobs and ensure we lead the future of mobility,” said Governor Whitmer. “Last year, I went to Expleo in France to pitch them on coming to Michigan, and I am so proud that they have decided to bet on our state. Thanks to our strong R&D ecosystem, skilled, dedicated workforce, and growing suite of economic development tools, we can help leading firms like Expleo thrive. Let’s keep going everywhere and competing with everyone to bring jobs and investments back home to Michigan.” Marcus Ganguin, EVP Automotive at Expleo, said: “The cars on today’s roads are more sophisticated than ever, requiring both precision engineering and the latest digital capabilities. Our new location in Troy, Michigan is a strategically important step for Expleo, allowing us to bring our broad expertise across domains such as electrification, quality, functional safety and digital experiences to our customers’ doorsteps, where they need us most.” From this location, Expleo will provide a comprehensive suite of services for businesses looking to meet customer demand for the latest automotive technologies, including electrical vehicles (EV), Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) and software-defined vehicles (SDV).
