Expleo’s Indian team assumed a strategic role in 2005, supporting Airbus’ diverse global engineering and industrial, digital transformation, and operational efficiency programmes.
Strategic initiatives from A380 to airworthiness
Expleo’s Indian team’s collaboration with Airbus began with the A380 programme and evolved through a series of strategic engagements, including:
- A350 centre fuselage integration, performing design and stress studies from preliminary design up to certification in 2009
- Design and stress engineering responsibilities for A320 sharklets in 2011
- Supporting the A400M from 2013 onward, with a focus on flight warning systems (both legacy and next-generation) and high-lift device engineering across most Airbus programmes
- Product engineering support for aircraft structure optimisation in 2020, joint structure optimisation and manufacturing engineering and service strategic supplier global referencing in 2023
- Vehicle management system for helicopters in 2024
- The latest expansion into airworthiness is in 2025
Besides these, Expleo has been a committed partner for Airbus and its digital transformation initiatives, propelling the collaboration and fuelling continuous growth. Expleo in India is now a strategic delivery hub for Airbus’ global operations.

To celebrate the 20-year collaboration milestone, Expleo hosted an event on 10 September at The Den Hotel, Bengaluru, attended by senior leaders, long-serving employees, and key stakeholders from Expleo and Airbus. The event featured recognition of key contributors and a shared vision for the future.
