Preston, UK, 23 September 2021. Expleo has won ‘Business of the Year’ in the 2021 Mersey Maritime Awards.

The ceremony, held in the UK at Liverpool Football Club on Friday 17 September, was streamed live as part of London International Shipping Week 2021, in celebration of the global maritime industry.

Now in its seventh year, the theme for the 2021 awards was ‘Building Back Better’, a reflection of the resilience, innovation and vibrancy of the maritime sector.

The Business of the Year award (Peel Ports Group) recognises organisations that combine innovation with investment to grow their business, demonstrating resilience in a challenging market.

Jeff Hoyle, Executive Vice President Global Aero, Space and Defence, Expleo, said: “We’re a leading service provider to the maritime industry, supporting customers across many platforms with complex systems projects, so we’re particularly proud of this award win which celebrates our innovative approach.”

“Despite the pandemic, we grew our global marine business significantly over the last 18 months and had the privilege of welcoming 224 new recruits to the UK team alone.”

“Throughout this time, we continued to invest in our people, helping them to develop and transfer skills in AI, cyber security and green technology to maritime.”

Expleo’s Jonathan Taylor, Vice President of Marine, said: “Our talented employees are at the core our business and we’ve focused on growing and developing the right skills needed to propel our business forward to ensure we can deliver excellence for our customers. And the results speak for themselves – I’m proud to say that together we’ve saved our customers time, helped them to effectively manage costs and improve quality.”

He concluded: “Ultimately, this award is all about our people and the work they do, I’ve been consistently impressed with the dedication I’ve seen right across the business, throughout a challenging time, and the energy and passion that goes in to all that we deliver for the customer .”
