Expleo, UK, 13 May 2025 – Expleo, the global engineering, technology and consulting company, is returning to the Combined Naval Event (CNE) in Farnborough from 20–22 May 2025, where it will spotlight its growing expertise in AI and its applications in naval design, shipbuilding and platform development.
At this year’s event, Expleo experts will share how the company delivers real-world AI solutions that support engineering and manufacturing clients. Visitors to the Expleo stand can expect to find out how AI is being used today to reduce design cycle times, streamline build processes and increase efficiency, without compromising the role of human expertise in complex decision-making.
Drawing on cross-industry experience, Expleo brings fresh perspectives to legacy challenges, helping clients reimagine how they approach design and build phases. As concerns around AI and automation evolve, Expleo remains grounded in a human-centric philosophy. The company advocates for human-in-the-loop systems that enhance decision-making and engineering outcomes.
Jonathan Taylor, Vice President – Marine at Expleo, said: “At CNE 2025, the Expleo team will share the progress we’ve made in applying AI to some of the most pressing challenges in naval engineering.
“Ultimately, our goal is to help clients do things faster, cheaper, and without compromising quality – whether that’s taking cost out of design cycles, speeding up build processes, or harnessing emerging technology to best effect.”
Expleo will also showcase progress from its Vision 202X project, developed by the company to further advance its naval capabilities. The internal initiative challenged Expleo’s emerging talent and naval engineers to design a vessel, that’s safer, more efficient and sustainable by using cutting-edge naval architecture practices.
The project included engineers from graduates to principal engineers, working as a team to complete a single loop of vessel design, from requirements capture to design delivery.
Taylor added: “Vision 202X demonstrates our experience in design and build, in addition to operations. We use AI, digital twin and other technologies to improve engineering solutions while optimising existing systems and always ensuring that human excellence remains at the heart of everything we do for our clients,”
The Combined Naval Event will welcome more than 1,500 attendees from over 50 nations. It is a key meeting place for representatives from international navies, the defence industry and academia to explore how naval capabilities can evolve to match the strategic, operational and technological demands of the future.
