Bristol, UK, 29 March 2022 – Stirling Dynamics, an Expleo company delivering advanced engineering services to the aerospace sector, has today announced the integration of EASA Part 21J Design capabilities into its offering, allowing it to provide complete end-to-end modification programmes to its customers.

Stirling Dynamics is adding extensive cabin interior design capabilities and EASA Part 21J Design Organisation Approval (DOA) and certification capabilities to its existing specialist aerospace engineering and analysis expertise. With this, it can now design, qualify and certify aircraft equipment for the emerging disruptive aerospace industry, including actuation systems, pilot controls and landing gears, according to the safety requirements of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

The integration allows Stirling Dynamics to deliver end-to-end solutions for both civil and military aircraft modification programmes, from design concept through to certification, thus reducing supplier complexity, time-to-market and cost for customers worldwide.

According to Expleo’s, Jeff Hoyle, Executive Vice President Aeronautics, Space and Defence, the time is now right to integrate both entities: After an unprecedented period for the aviation sector, demand for aircraft modifications is now recovering. The addition of an EASA DOA enhances Stirling Dynamics’ already impressive range of engineering capabilities to meet the changing demands of aerospace manufacturers against the pressures of today’s marketplace.”

On the internal integration, Stirling Dynamics’ Vice President, Bandula Pathinayake, commented: This new collaboration expands the scope of our current consultancy and engineering services to offer full aircraft design and modifications services to support emerging aerospace innovations. This strengthens Stirling Dynamics commitment to solving customers’ complex engineering problems with ingenuity and reliability and makes the company a strong player in the UK, Europe and beyond.
