22 October 2025, Expleo, London, UK – Engineering, technology and consulting services provider Expleo has responded to the UK Government’s new blueprint for AI regulation, calling it a positive step towards harnessing AI to drive growth and strengthen public trust.
The blueprint and creation of UK AI Growth Labs represents an important milestone in creating a clear, principles-based approach to AI governance. It recognises that effective regulation must sit alongside technological progress. Expleo believes this approach can provide the clarity that organisations need to innovate confidently, while ensuring public services and critical sectors adopt AI safely and responsibly.
The proposed framework, which sets out how the UK will regulate AI across sectors including advanced manufacturing, transport and robotics, represents a vital move towards transparency and consistency. However, the company warns that regulation alone will not remove the biggest barriers preventing organisations from realising AI’s full potential.
According to recent Expleo research, while 70% of UK businesses rate their AI projects as successful, many struggle to scale solutions beyond pilot phase and harness AI to drive growth. The study found that integration with legacy systems, along with budget constraints and skills shortages, remain the main obstacles to achieving enterprise-wide transformation.
“Establishing a clear and trusted regulatory environment is essential for AI to thrive,” said Dinesh Mohan, Global Head Digital and Technology at Expleo. “But as our research shows, the real challenge for many organisations lies in the ‘how’ – integrating AI into existing systems, proving ROI and scaling successful pilots. Without tackling these fundamentals, regulation alone won’t deliver the productivity and efficiency gains that government and industry are aiming for.
“A consistent framework can help build trust, but delivery will depend on partnerships – connecting regulation with practical implementation and technical know-how. Expleo’s role is to bridge that gap, helping organisations deploy AI safely, ethically and effectively in live environments.”
Mohan concluded: “As calls grow for organisations to have access to safe environments with built in guardrails to safely test AI, the technology sector must respond by developing the next-generation of tools that support successful testing, encourage innovation and respect regulation.”
As an engineering and digital transformation specialist, Expleo supports organisations across sectors in embedding AI and automation within complex systems, ensuring technology is secure, interoperable and delivers measurable value.
