The challenge
An Austrian private bank’s Order Management System (OMS) had become one of the most constrained assets in the business. Over 2,200 tightly coupled modules and APIs, security vulnerabilities embedded deep in the code, heavy UI logic, and critical integrations with SWIFT, AS/400 (Tambas) and PIA. Years of accumulated technical debt had made the system difficult to maintain, slow to deliver and costly to run. The path forward required a clear picture of exactly what was there – before anyone could decide what to do about it.
The solution
We started with intelligence, not code. CodePIe scanned all 2,262 modules and APIs across the OMS, mapped the hidden dependencies, identified the security vulnerabilities and generated a data-driven picture of the full technical landscape – giving the client a clearer view of their own system than they had ever had internally. That transparency changed the conversation from risk to possibility. The intelligence shaped a three-phase, 41-week modernisation roadmap: stabilise and secure first (weeks 1–12), then transform the critical domains – FX trading, order life cycle, client and compliance (weeks 13–28), then optimise and scale (weeks 29–41). Agile delivery, continuous testing and business continuity were built in throughout.
