The challenge
As a global insurer, the client was on a data management transformation journey, with individual divisions operating at different levels of maturity. While each division had its own priorities and value drivers, there was a common objective to strengthen data governance, data quality and master data management capabilities across the organisation.
A key challenge was establishing a federated model of data governance using the Collibra platform that aligned with the way the organisation operates across multiple divisions and functions.
The client also needed to establish a robust data catalogue and detailed data lineage capability for one of its largest analytical platforms, improving visibility and understanding of critical data assets across the business
The solution
Expleo partnered with the client to provide governance advisory, platform implementation and ongoing support through the Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud.
The engagement began with assessment and advisory services to help structure a federated governance model, including guidance on governance best practices, operating models and platform governance.
Expleo then enabled a data catalogue and detailed lineage capability across Power BI, SSIS and SQL Server, improving visibility and traceability of critical data assets. The team also customised the Collibra platform, tailoring the asset and operating models and developing custom workflows, dashboards and lineage traceability views.
Following implementation, Expleo continues to provide business-as-usual support, managing technical and business requests as governance capabilities evolve across the organisation.
